I regret to say this video was of no value for me at all. Is this meant to be a 3 minute sales pitch for netbeans? Too bad a chance to interview people who have plenty to share is wasted with one (!) generic uninteresting question (being first video on the frontpage). I mean what else *can* they say in response . I suppose a different title would go a long way: Why netbeans in 2 minutes if you've never heard of it. Also, I find the chopped of summaries on the front page offer very little value. To end on a positive note, nice initiative and of course yay for netbeans :-)

Did you see the second part? Click the preview image on the right. I didn't find it either at first, but it's more interesting than the first part. Using NetBeans IDE as SDK for the NetBeans Platform (or you can use the Platform libraries independently of the IDE), letting the IDE generate meta-data and skeleton code from templates, interfaces exposed by JARs...

I don't think every video can possibly offer value for *everyone*. It just isn't possible. So, of course if someone knows about the platform in general they are going to not get a lot from this video. However, if they are wondering what it is and about some of the things it can do, then I feel they are going to take something away from this. I think it's a good interview. The name is right on as all they talk about, along with their book, is the NetBeans Platform, and from the IDE perspective, only in terms of Platform project support.
