Description

Wow. Lot’s to report, and I don’t want to hear a single “I told you so”. We missed our flight to Tel Aviv yesterday, so we’re still in Istanbul. This is not bad, because Istanbul is a fantastic city, but it is bad because there are some programmers in Palestine who will not get their software by Monday. Martin and I still aren’t sure what we’re going to do about it - any suggestions are welcome, but we don’t have the budget to book another flight and I think it’s safe to say that Rob isn’t going to wire us any more cash… Our options so far include: 1. a bus through Syria and into Jordan, then into Israel. 2. a really fast speedboat 3. stay in Turkey for Anzac day and start looking for jobs :-( We cut the day a little close, but there should have been plenty of time to get to the airport. We ended up missing a tram, only to find that the next one wouldn’t come for half an hour. Ugh. We’re holding up pretty well considering, but I think this is shaping up to be a truly interesting trip… Big shout out to the Mavi Guest House people, who are treating us with circumspect solicitude, I guess you could say ;-) They aren’t used to backpackers fighting with their bosses at midnight in the guest lounge, but they gave us a couple of beers after…
